Dieting does not work. The reason for this is as soon as the diet is over the patient resumes their old habits and the weight comes right back. The key is making lifestyle changes that can be sustained your entire life. This will ensure you lose the weight and keep it off. The way I do this is the 5 and 2 rule. 5 days a week I eat healthy food, that is cooked not microwaved or from a box. I eat 3 meals a day with 3 healthy snacks in between. The snacks are usually a piece of fruit. My meals are small. This keeps my blood sugar balanced through out the day. Then I exercise at least 3 time a week for 30 minutes. Then from Friday night till Sunday I eat whatever I want. Pizza and soda are fair game. I have been practicing this program since I was a child and it has allowed me to stay healthy and lean. Give it a shot your weight loss will be slower than a diet but it will be healthy and you will find a healthy weight for your body type. This will allow you to keep the weight off and live a long healthy life.
